Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance 2017
Another unforgettable weekend of memorable philanthropy, comedy and an auto and motorcycle show like no other. The “Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance” happened Feb. 20-22 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
This event, now in its 9th year, began Friday with the “DuPont Pc registry™ Live Hangar Party” at Boca Raton Airport. Visitors had the opportunity to experience gourmet tastings from more than 20 of South Florida’s finest restaurants and browse a fine display screen of unique cars and trucks, custom motorbikes, extravagant boats, private jets, vintage airplanes, high-end motor coaches and leading vendors.
Saturday featured the black-tie optional “Gala Dinner Auction & Program” at Boca Raton Resort & Club. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and quiet auction, followed by a seated dinner and live auction including distinctive trips and experience packages, high-end precious jewelry and more. Keith Crain and the Ed Morse Automotive Group will be honored with the 2015 Automotive Life time Achievement Award. Devoted car collector Ralph Marano was the recipient of the Lee Iacocca Award. And back by popular demand, TV star and comic Howie Mandel performed.
The weekend concluded Sunday with the “Automobile & Motorcycle Exhibition” at Boca Raton Resort & Club, presented by Impala Asset Management. The display featured more than 200 collector automobiles and motorcycles from around the country. An expert panel of judges choose the finest automobiles based upon pre-set requirements, with awards going to the winning entries. Guests are always welcome to walk through a series of vendor tents.
“Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance” was founded by Rita and Rick Case of Rick Case Automotive Group. The event benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County and the 12,500 children that go to the 12 clubs.
“The whole Concours team is consisted of a group of about 200 volunteers who dedicate their individual time to this event,” stated Brian Quail, president/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. “In 2014, the event raised more than $1 million dollars for the Boys & Girls Clubs, making the ‘Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance’ the fastest growing Concours in the country and the world’s biggest for charity.”
The event chair is James E. McDonnell IV, and the honorary chair is Mike Jackson. “Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance” exists by Mercedes-Benz and AutoNation.

Feburary, 2017– The 11th Annual Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance, showcased over 180 cars and trucks and 55 motorcycles, was held on February 12 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. As usual, variety is what brings the crowds, and this year, as in the past, there was something for everybody. For instance, the Marques for 2017 were the Auburn, Cord, & Duesenberg, and there were a big contingency of these automobiles on the program field. Wayne Carini, host of Going after Classic Cars, worked as Grand Marshal, and a professional panel of judges went to work early to choose the finest vintage, antique, traditional and unique cars in their classes. https://www.facebook.com/BocaRatonConcours/
Judging was based on the cars condition, authenticity/originality, and its appeal in the following locations: outside, interior, engine, as well as its total discussion, visual effect and the significance of the vehicle. In addition, participants had the chance to select their favorite car at the occasion.
